Euphoria
by: Edgar Trejo
Beginning now.
Freeze hum. Water, an orange book.
Crunching of teeth, of wits, foot scrapes across the floor.
Flat air balanced a flat bottle.
The smell of dead algea in a sea of asphalt.
Dull pain, Bob cut, clipped wings.
Ombre greens and a chain of keepsakes.
Slam, hinge slams.
Ambient brodouchiness.
The keyboard sits, chafed faces,
The long, brushed table.
A pen, atchoo, neon strings
Of accent colours meander
In a restless parallel.
The Sounds,
alzheimers,
A pen, atchoo, neons strings
Of Accent colors. Alzheimer’s,
A pen.
Gelatin water, crystal nebulae,
Jeweled backpacks and studded glasses,
Nude grey leggings,
A hipster.
Coiling chords in blank white sockets,
Trifold shadows, fathered light.
Blue, restless quietus in a cloud of white
Exit Red, taciturn, mint sprigs
In the black coils, ricochet,
Five seconds. Combs, curled by
Separation.
A squiggle, scrath five knocks,
Typing, crunch, type scratch, phlegm.
Silence. Blue,
Clouded in a blanket of whites,
The world suspends,
In a dome of our making.
