Today is my wedding day,
I don’t know this man, I have never seen him.
He hasn’t seen me.
Will he love me, will it be love at first sight? Will we connect?
The women in my family come to adorn me,
but I’m not here. I’m here, but I’m immune to this happiness
they speak of.
They put me together, but I wear this facade.
I don’t know this man, I have never spoken to him.
What does he look like? Is he short, fat, handsome, will I be attracted?
No one is telling me.
Can I see a picture, of my dearly beloved.
Is that what I call him?
I don’t know this man.
